Here are some more of our heroic fundraisers who have walked, baked, quizzed and ridden their horses for us!
Maria
Maria raised over £3,000 for LMSRUK by hosting her second pub quiz attended by more than 70 people, complete with fish and chips, a tombola and a silent auction. Organising an event of that scale is no small thing, and we are so grateful for the time and energy she put into it. Thank you, Maria, you are magnificent.
Maisie and Family
Maisie is an LMS patient and our LMS Research UK Chair. She and her family committed to walking 500 miles, one mile a day, for 500 consecutive days. Starting in May 2024 they have walked in rain, wind and darkness, on busy days and quiet ones. She has raised over £4,589. Go Maisie!
The Afsar Family
Kate Afsar is living with metastatic uterine Leiomyosarcoma and, alongside her husband Nisar and children Rafi and Amina, set a family goal of raising £5,000. They smashed it and have now raised over £10,500. Kate, Nisar, Rafi and Amina: you are an inspiration.
Abigail and Friends
Abigail and her school friends did an ice bucket challenge in memory of her mum Michelle, who she lost to Leiomyosarcoma. They raised £210. What a fun and exciting way to fundraise! Michelle would be very proud.
Lucy
Lucy cantered 100km on horseback in September in honour of her mum Kellie’s dear friend Kirstin, who has Leiomyosarcoma. What a wonderful way to fundraise, and we are grateful to both Lucy and Kellie for thinking of us.
