We are beginning the planning and development of a National (virtual) Leiomyosarcoma (LMS) biobank encompassing tissue, blood, and associated data. This is a major initiative designed to support LMS research by significantly improving researchers’ access to high-quality samples and data, which is an area currently recognised as a major barrier to progress in LMS research. The biobank is intended to include all LMS subtypes.
Alongside this, we are working closely with sarcoma researchers to develop targeted research proposals that will make use of the LMS Biobank. These projects will support ongoing research and innovation, with the ultimate aim of improving outcomes for people living with leiomyosarcoma.
